to lie (down): 躺(下)
I was lying on the lawn. 我躺在草坪上
注意不要与to lay(something down)混淆,后者意为"放置"(某物)。
I lie down on the floor. 我躺在地板上。
I lay this book on the table. 我把这本书放在桌子上。
I lay this book on the table. 我把这本书放在桌子上。
注意以上两个动词的过去式与完成式:
* to lie / I lay / I have lain
* to lay / I laid / I have laid

to lie prostrate: 俯卧
to lie face down: 趴着
- "When he awoke, Bruno was lying in a hospital bed."
- "You're not just going to leave that lyin' here, are you?"

- "The ones with the naked girls lying on bottles of perfume."

- "Ask subject to sit or lie comfortably."
